Dad's Christmas - 2008

Here are some pictures of Dad's Christmas Ornaments from this year. He only put of two trees this year. Jenny and Dad spent the last couple of days taking down the Nativity Scene, misc decorations and one tree. So, that leaves us with the revolving tree...and they will probably have it put away by the end of the week. It's a sad time...but there is always next Christmas, right?
This is an antique ornament that Mom & Dad have had for ages.
This is handmade by Mom, Dad and me back in the 70's.
This is "The Grandkids Ornament"...all 12 have their names on it.
An Angel...but I don't think Mom made this one.
I made this button ornament...it's one of my favories!
One of our newest...Hannah & Paul Daniel!
A beatiful red ornament that lights up.

Hi Laura :)

Many thanks for showing the interesting and captivating Christmas ornaments.

The love, joy, happiness that Christmas time brings is some thing very special and magical.

The decorations bring us an enchanting and fairy land atmosphere in the house.

The button ornament is very good and you must have spent considerable time, effort and imagination to make it. Your parents must have been very happy and pleased with it.

I agree with you that dismantling and packing up brings a feeling of sadness. But happiness and sadness is a part of life.

Wish you a wonderful day full of joy and happiness :)

Hi LJeanh,
I happen on your blog by way of Joseph's blog, which I visit weekly for another grand and facinating tour of India.
I was immediately captured by the picture of the fern and clover in the above picture. I live in Oregon and this scene is one I have walked by in awe of while hiking in the mountains. Such beauty, it is what has kept me in Oregon.
Then as I poked around your blog further I see these beautiful ornaments, this will make my wife's mouth water, she collects unusual ornaments.

I couldn't help but relate to your desire to live somewhere that you were visiting and captivated by. The beauty of Washington and Oregon may be unrivaled anywhere.
But this one word of encouragement; the person that appreciates a location the most, drinks in the romantic intoxication from every little nuance, is certainly the tourist.
The natives, after about three years or so, take even the most spell binding scenes as more commonplace, just seems to be the nature of man to have the greatest joy in anticipation not possession.
Love the picture of the Bald Eagle, that is a rare treat.
God bless,
Fred
